well went today to the swap meet in toowoomba and was very annoyed to hear the same thing all day from sellers
its worth that much on ebay
seems the days of getting a good deal are dead
however did meet a guy who does dash repairs for reasonable rates and does a top quality job
anyway just letting you know evilbay will kill swap meets sooner than later

Ebay is a big swapmeet. It's the next evolution. Same with Saturday classifieds and trading post. You are right about bargains, but remember the value of classics compared to 10 or so years ago has a lot to do with it. Remember the Web didn't exist in 199

dont disagree with your point of view mate but its just a shame to see another great thing go

perhaps in 20 years it will be like drive in movie theatres
not enough people went in the end but everyone missed them when they were gone

We're lucky - we have a drive-in at Heddon Greta, about 20 or so minutes away. Saw 'Night at the Museum' and 'Deja-Vu' there last weekend.
It's amazing what we take for granted with the Web nowadays too.

Don't see your problem it's worth whatever you want to pay. As for ebay, tell them to sell it on ebay, its not as easy as it seems and takes a lot of time.

Yep, heard the same thing at Bendigo last year.

The best line I heard, was a buyer said "Well if it's worth that much on ebay, why the hell are you out here in the heat all day trying to sell it? Oh, I know, you're too f..in stupid to use a computer a
Cheers,

Mick

We only get about 4 car swapmeets a year so ebay is often our best bet to get stuff. But "super rare " doesn't turn up much because it's, well, super rare.
But ebay is overrated, the time involved in listing stuff, keeping track of it, contacting sellers

Well i was also at Toowoomba, Friday and Saturday, and I saw lots of good stuff at reasonable prices, just depends on what you are after, also bought heaps last week at Eight Mile Plains swap.

The big difference is instead of the traders running around

I agree , but the swap is also a good social event to catch up with people and old mates you rarley see anymore.
ebay has killed off the cheap parts but there are still a lot of people out there not on computers which is good for us also.
