HI all, I am tring to get a list together of all the Holden dealers and their dealer numbers that were current for the 70's. As more and more people are getting interested in the history of the car they own car, this list would become a valuable tool. The list below is what I know of so far. If ou can add to this list, please do. Only list the dealer if the number was current for the 70's as Holden has changed most of the numbers over the years. Thanks in advance.

We began this on Brockcommodores.com some time back too.
I was under the impression, after some posts in the thread, that a dealer number stays with them, but if it's taken over, then they are issued a new number, and the old number was never re-used. |
Cheers,

The NSW police would not have a seperate number, as these cars all came throught the "public works department" back in those days, so this will be just NSW government, this changed to 010 for all government orders in the 80s.
It could be that they were

The funny thing is you will be chasing your tail as GMH did re-allocate numbers, even though they state they didn't. I know of 3 different dealers that shared the same number in 9 year of trading. Good luck!

I have found this out as well. The problem is if I don't try and get the info now, I will have even less of a hope finding this info out in say 10 years.

Another avenue would be to list all known dealers of the time and find cars from them and compare to the records. there must be enough collectors of manuals etc to find them Australia wide.
And yes they recycle the dealer codes, I saw a list of dealers
