OK dude, you're on the Ford side of the forum here so knowledge base won't be as good as the Holden side. haven't heard any bad things about the VRs. If you're only a young fella don't go modifying the car too much.

Just don't cut the springs and buy all shocks/springs new.

If you want better handling once lowered, get front and rear swaybars.

Hi Mick,
I guess we will just have to wait and see if he can learn from some of our past mistakes. Be a pity to think we went and cocked up all for nothing in our own youth.

cheers,
Paul.

The ute does have a drink holder in the glove box as you open the panel however i wouldn't use just quietly. I have a vs s2 ute and it does the job just fine. If you do alot of travel make sure you change the oil requraly as they have a smaller oil chute

If your budget will stretch to it, buy a VSIII. These are the last of the shape and probably the most refined. I bought a V6 manual S pack brand new on Xmas eve 2000. If there had been any V8's left when I bought it I'd still have it now. There are plenty

VS series 2 introduced the drink holders in the glovebox.
They are little more than a depression in a bit of plastic that's only really suitable for when the car isn't moving.
