Hi I have a 98 el ford, it used to be a pursuit car.I need to replace the drive pinion seal in the diff but dont know what sort of diff it is, the tailshaft is alluminium so the diff is probably not stock standard as well. Does anyone know how to tell what diff it is, I can't find any tags on it,I have been told that the seals are different between stock standard and slip.

The alumininium tailshaft is standard. the diff is probably just a run of the mill 4 pinion 28spline BTR 78 series.
