Would anyone know the size / diameter of a standard front sway bar on a HZ premier sedan (253/trimatic) with RTS? I'm not sure if there was an option for a bigger swaybar, or that RTS came out with all the same components. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

All HZs had the same front sway bar, which was also the GTS sway bar for HQ to HX. ALL HZs have RTS.

Not sure on size though.

I just went out to the shed and got the calipers out and measured the sway bars on both my HQ GTS's.

They both came in at a fraction over 20mm so allowing for paint I guess 20mm would be a good guess.

Hi Mario,

Is it possible that your HJ coupe had an aftermarket sway bar fitted when the HZ rails were fittted?

Mine are both definitely original HQ GTS items.

Hi Munromad,
I fitted the rails last year.I'm 99% sure the whole front end came off a kingswood,it has the support bars along the bottom and the s/bar looked pretty much stock as i put new bar rubbers in ie no flashy coloured bar.
I'll have another look

Thanks guys for looking - I'm pretty sure the RTS size was 24mm. Just measured a HZ and it's 24mm, so off ot the wreckers this weekend to find a similar one. Thanks again.

Sorry, forgot to post - Mario, what do the support bars look like - picked up a set that were from a WB, and are different each side. Not sure if they can fit on a HZ or exactly where they go. Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

They go at the bottom of the chassis rails. Each side of the bottom of the crossmember. There should a bolt hole each side. Then diagnally across to each corner of the bottom of the rail, there should be holes there as well.I'm guessing WB's are the same.Hope
