Hi, I found in a shed i am cleaning out, a yellow block 308, someone prob painted it, eng # is 11QT49792, is there a way to tell where/what model it came out of, its pre pollution, rocker covers are red as are the heads.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have also found a AMC 287 B/B, i gather these things arent worth much, from what i have read.
Also i have 2 red motors( got about 14 actually) but these ones only have HP stamped on the block, no numbers like the others as

11QT497 will be late HQ Statesman, trimatic block.
HP cast red 6's are just EH 179 blocks

Hi tpwreckers,
Is the engine for sale.
I am looking for a HQ series trimatic motor. I would prefer a QT prefix rather than the Statesman 11QT but it would do.
Are you selling? Do you have any more 308?

Thanks for the info, 308 not for sale sorry, going to put it in my FJ60 cruiser. Have 4 253s left, thats the only V8s i have apart from the AMC 287. Have HD grilles, HQ-Z doors etc, mainly old Holden gear, also FC EK doors, a lot of other stuff i havent b

In Tom Price, about 1600kms nor nor east of Perth, nice dry climate, why is why everything seems to have not rusted much if at all.
