HEY GUYS I HAVE GOT AND FORD EL GLI 97 I WOULD LIKE 2 PUT A POD FILTER ON IT THIS WEEKEND BUT I DUNNO WOT TO DO CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE , SHOULD I KEEP MY AIRBOX AND STICK THE POD IN IT OR RIP IT OUT AND HAVE NOT BOX THANKS GUYS

keeping the box is best as you will still be sucking in cold air & this will be less likely to attract unwanted attention from the boys in blue.

agreed, pod filters that stick out in the engine bay look crap, might get you defected, sound horrible, and suck in vast amounts of EXTREMELY hot air that's completely detrimental to performance. Replace your panel filter with a K&N (or similar style) pa |

I HAVE BEEN THINKING AND LOOKING FOR A K&N PANEL FILTER WILL SET ME BACK $130 FROM AUTOBARN AND A POD WILL SET ME BACK ABOUT $50 WOT IF I TAKE OUT THE PANEL FILTER AND STICK THE POD IN THE AIRBOX

dont know bout the panel filter but k&n make a cone filter that is much better than a pod. pod filters have to be replaced wheres the k&n can be washed and last the life of ur car. it might cost a bit more but worth it

If you want to know how much extra grunt a free flowing panel filter is going to give you just remove your existing paper filter & go for a short drive with it removed. If the power gain is significant then it's worth spending the $130 if it's not really |
