Just wondering if the engine and head internals on the Holden red 202's
are all the same. Maybe some have found a certain year for the red 202 better than other years or were they all the same.

good. your other option is a rope seal, which can be nasty.

Depends. Neoprene can leak, but if you use a good quality seal and oil it properly when you install it then they are good and consume less horsepower. As they are the same seal as a SBC with 2-piece rear main you can buy good quality seals. However, in th

Early red has 202 on the side and later red has 3.3 on the side. Not accounting for any seal setups. I know a stock 3.3 bottom end can definitely handle 275hp, so I suppose the 202 block is the same.

byron rich. was the first 149 179 red motor first made in canada. i have a tec teacher telling me that he did bore a 149 out to a 179 no problem, canadan block only.?

To tell the truth I don't know if the first of the reds was made in Canada but Warren or Dr Terry will know for sure - I doubt it though. 149 to 161 is an 1/8" overbore. 161 to 173 is another 1/8" overbore. 173 to 179 is 1/16". That's a 5/16" overbore for
