Hi

I've managed to aquire an old grey motor from an EJ

Bloke that I got it off said it hasn't been run for two years.

I am planning to put in my FX

Is there anything I can do to test it before I install?

It does turn over, But I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to see if the motor is anygood beofre I install

I dont wont to go to a lot of trouble to install only to find out the motor mya be a dud

Any tricks for determing how good a motor is before its installed and test run

thanks

There are a lot of things that you could check like the colour of the spark plugs, the crankshaft end float, the free play in the timing gears, the condition of the distributor, the valve clearances, the amount of corrosion behind the welsh plugs
