What cfm has a v8 2 barrel ww stromberg have as compared to a say 350 holley? mine is fitted to a 253, and in saying that, what carbie would be a good upgrade to a stock motor with intention of more upgrades

I have your same config, so I know where u are at. I think u will find that the throats on a Holley are smaller than the WW. I expected the opposite. So expect similar CFM.

The 2 bbl Holley 350 is fine carb for a 253. Especially on a manual. If its an

cheers, at the moment it is a bedford cf van .a red253 from a hq ?trimatic to a ford 9 diff which i think may be a highway diff,disc brakes from a hq up front,go bloody good for a 30 yr car , just lots of rust

Considering these old girls had 173 and 202 reds fitted a stock 253 will do the job nicely. To make a 253 nice to drive and economical I suggest either leaving it stock except for a HEI distributor or if you would like a little bit more power do this:
