For a good all round diff choice, put a 3.36 in it. Then 5th will be 3% higher than 4th would be with a 3.08 diff and the car will be better off the line.

If you do lots of highway K's, put a 3.08 in it.

Cheers...Dave

In a light car like a HR with 13" rims 3.08 should be OK. It should even push a 2.78 OK but top gear may be a waste under 100km/h.

No idea on anywhere in Melbourne as I'm in Perth and Byron is in northern NSW...

The centres of the banjos are, sort of, all the same within ranges. A 3.08 and 2.78 have the same bits and all 3.36 and down (higher numbers) are the same.

All will bol

I've got a supra box with a 3.08 diff on a 308 V8. Reckon 3.08 is great - 1st and 2nd gear even a little too short. Would not go 3.36. 2.78 would be great for highway cruiz. 3.08 will get up an boogey of the line. Let me know if you can source LSD hemisph
