I have a commodore VT 2000 model which has only done around 103,450 kms. The car is in great condition and has been serviced every 10000kms. I recently took it to a mechanic for a service and when I returned to pick up the vehicle he told me that the Airbag warning light was coming on. This has never happened before and it makes a warning sound which is hard to ignore which I most certainly would have noticed. I asked him if he may have done anything which triggered it and he said "no". Is this just a built in feature that after the clock is reset after 100 000 km service or should I ask him to fix the problem.
Thanks,
Dany

Hi Dany.

The airbag warning light and chime should not come on after reseting the service indicator.

Did he do a wheel alignment during the service.

Hi Dany,

Although I refer to my Ford DF, when I lost all power from a discharged battery, the airbag light flashed when restarted & charged. It still does it, and the manual suggests it may not operate in an accident..... Apparently Ford have to 'res

My VT has done it 2times in 3 years for no reason.
There was a fault with seat belt pre-tensioners in VT's and was told not to store melways/sydways or any other stuff between the seats.
Mine had history codes stored and had to clear it with the Tech2 w

Hi raistlin.

It's a common issue on air-bag cars to damage the 'clock-spring' in the steering column when the steering is hit hard against the steering stops with no load, as is common by opperators of wheel alignment machines. I've seen this more that

ive come across another interesting trigger for airbag lights in this model.....when car dealers have cars detailed they quite often steam clean the carpets and seats, there is a wiring plug next to the drivers pillar under the carpet which gets moist and
