is the internal box the same on the air con as the heater, as i am taking the air con out of my hz and only have the engine bay heater box, and not the section on the inside of the fire wall.

You will still have the internal box as it contains the heater core, so not much point in pulling it out, except for a bit more room inside and the engine bay box is a bit smaller.
