HELLO EVERYONE I'M ABOUT TO BUY A OIL PRESSURE SENDER UNIT FOR A HT GTS DASH. NOW I KNOW, WELL I THINK I KNOW THAT GMH USED VDO UNITS BACK IN THE 70'S NOW THE UNITS OF TODAY THAT ARE SOLD BY VDO ARE THEY THE SAME AS THE ONES FROM BACK THEN (COSMETICALLY)OR DO I HAVE TO LOOK FOR A NOS UNIT AS I'M DOING A RESTORE & I HAVE THAT NUT & BOLT DISEASE BUT I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM

The oil sender for an HT is the same as:

HD to HQ
LC to LJ/TA
VB to VK

So get down the wreckers and just pull one out of a commodore.

im tipping he'll need sender from a commodore with an oil pressure gauge not a light? or am i stating the bleeding obvious

If you are trying to feed a gauge, yes, you'll need a gauge sender.

The light senders are like a light switch in your house (on or off), the gauge senders are like a light dimmer control (vary the resistance to give access to the bits between on and of
