What do people think about ford cutting the fairlane and ltd from the production line.....

The trend here in Aus has been for people to switch to the smaller, more economical cars. ( frigging blood sucking oil companies fault ) If it wasn't for the fleet and government buys Falcon and Commodore would be hard pressed to remain viable these days

I think that it's very sad. holden made the same mistake in the mid 80's by dropping the Statesman thus handing the big car sales to Ford on a plate (probably as a thanks for Ford dropping the V8).

how bout bringing back the compact fairlane or something similar, compact size maybe even a 2 door thing with a bit of cow inside and bells and wistles with a nice little v8 under the bonnet. i'd buy one

Well if they released the ba bt in a coupe ford could put a big v8 and may be a gt or cobra . It would push the sales through the roof ,what do you guys think....

Why is it that people say that Fairlanes and LTD's are huge big tanks then turn around and climb into a 20ft long 6ft high 4wd truck that gets 10mpg to drive around the city and suburbs ??
