Hi once again. Just one more question for the time being.
My XF carby (Weber of course) seems to be playing up, but only on occassions. Most of the time it runs ok, although could run better as it seems to never want to idle smoothly (will idle at what ever revs it is set at but then the revs with jump up for a split second and then go back to normal), but sometimes, without reason, I will be driving along and I get a very strong smell of petrol through the cabin of the ute which seems to be coming from the carby. Any advice on what I can do to fix the carby? If the jets are stuffed will this cause these problems? Should I run a kit through the carby or should I just replace it with a reconditioned one. Also, when I was doing a complete service and changed all of the filters and fluids in the engine I noticed that the car doesn't appear to have a fuel filter on it. Should I put a fuel filter on it and if so, where should I put it on the fuel hose? Just before the carby or is anywhere along the fuel line OK?
Thanks again guys, Lachy.

Thanks again Pual351xb. I will put the fuel filter on and also use the carbotune as you have advised and hopefully this will fix the problem. As far as I know the autochoke works on the car. How should I diagnose if this is faulty? Also, if the jets in th

Ive had this problem and your losing fuel, on the carby there is a valve made of well looks like card board.
There is 2 to 3 screws by memory say 2cm squre box plate on the carby take that off and pull the valve out and check for cracks in valve.
