I think these vehicles can still generate enthusiasm. They show a bit of innovation Holden which they are world famous for. Limited by ADRs and engines they were still able to freshen up a kingswood sedan with a sporty flavour, maybe more sports tourer. Th

Hi Guys.

I'm pretty sure it was a 308 4-speed, but not sure if it was a GTS or a Kingswood. It didn't matter anyway, as by 1973 they were running new rules. The suspension differences between the 2 didn't matter, because they could be modified anyway u

This car was a 308 4 speed in 73 and a 350 4 speed in 74, the same car, a GTS 4 door, black in colour and it still exists, saw in 98 at the NSW AHD.

Keep it original mate and muck around with another car, get a unique cars magazine and see what they are going for in that, then imagine what it will be worth in five years time.
I do like your attitude that cars are meant to driven not hidden, Good one!

I had look at some DVD footage of the 74 race, & I could see something HQ like, dark blue or black with 2 white stripes. I also recall from another website where it said one car was a 350. I assumed a coupe, but a 4 door would be interesting.

That's a bugger about it being a GTS, as that means it's a Monaro. I've always thought it was a normal Kingswood meaning that Monaros haven't got a perfect Bathurst record ie win everytime they are run ie 1968, 1969, 2002, 2003. Not even the mighty A9X ca

Hi Byron.

As I said, they weren't that fussy from 1973 onwards. Not that anyone did, but you could've got a 6 cyl HQ LS & fitted the 350 running gear & raced it as a GTS350 coupe, as long as it was built to spec.

As you've already mentioned many RPO

In saying that Dr.Terry if i wanted to be a real s**t stirrer on the Ford sites i can claim rightly so that an XC falcon NEVER won Bathurst.
Can't remember if the XA bodies were used through out as well....rear quarter repeater lamps turned 90 deg XA,XB

If you read some of the case history of Commodore race cars in AMC, plenty of the cars changed sheetmetal with model evolution like VP to VR to VS or VC to VH and even to VK.

And you could probably rightly claim the XC fact. I suppose you could at leas

AS Terry said you raced a specification not the car. Moffats XY THO was not a HO n the end it was a replaceent falcon 500 body that Ford had out the back.

Byron they also ran a HT in 1970.

As the GTS 4 door was a 308 in 73 does this now make a GTS 3

Hi Guys.

David Sheldon was my school teacher's brother (year 11. 1969). I remember that car well, it was an HT GTS350. He teamed up with Don Holland in 1969, qualified 14th, but hurt the motor in practice and did not start on the Sunday. He came back i
