Hi all, I have recently purchased an 100% original XBGS Coupe, 302/4 speed with Parchment interior & Red exterior. I am currently restoring the car inside & out (there goes the bank balance). Question I have is: Did any XBGS Coupes come out from factory with XA/XB GT style door trims / seat patterns. My car has the square block pattern and I don't really like it at all. Will re-do interior with in the original parchment colour scheme, but want to be sure about changing the pattern style. Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated. Thx

I'm guessing it's a Falcon GS rather than a Fairmont GS? Yes the falcons had the square block pattern in the XBs. Same interior as the John Goss specials. If you aren't keen on the pattern put in XB Fairmont/GT seat skins and door cards. You'll need

Paul351xb, Thx for the tip. I realise I can do that (and probably will), I guess what I am really searching for is to confirm if the XBGS Falcon Coupes ever came out from factory with that GT style pattern, or was it only available in that XB Falcon blo

Halazi, the GT pattern was only available on GTs and fairmonts. GTs were built from Fairmonts not Falcons. So in answer to your question, no Falcon GSs came out with the Fairmont interiors, they were all the square block shape with I think the ashtrays

Paul351xb, Thx again for the prompt reply Paul, greatly appreciated. What to do now? Do I go with what I like or keep it 100% original? $$ wise, I know it makes sense to go with the original pattern with short arm rests (which I hate), but mentally, I wo

If you are worried about originality upon resale why don't you just fit it with a Fairmont interior & keep the stock interior in storage & offer it with the car or re fit it upon resale?

Hi ya Harry, you could do what Jim suggests though tracking down coupe seats isn't that easy. Would help if you could get a set though especially a Fairmont rear seat as they have the pull down centre arm rest. You could also get a set of the rear cour

Thx Jim and Paul for your comments and recommendations. I was actually thinking the same thing as I do have a pair of XA Falcon buckets(not Fairmont/GT seats- as they have the basket weave centres)in black and a pair of recliners to suit coupes. I also

Harry, all the things you are suggesting are in no way butchering the car. It's not like you are chopping off the roof and sticking A9X flares on it. I've got a GT rear stone tray and GT exhaust tips on my coupe. Really suits the car. If you want to

Thx again Paul, I think I will go for the square tip panel (but would have to be fibreglass - can't find ot afford the real deal), but will keep the original twin pipe round panel in the garage. May also do the same with the side fultes as they too seem a

Harry, if the XA GT bonnet is in good condition that will pretty much pay for the retrim of your car interior. They fetch decent money. Check out ebay, they show up there from time to time and there is usually a bidding war.
