I had an Edlebrock manifold put on the HQ 253 some time ago. Every since there has been coolant being sprayed around the engine bay. It was hard to track down but found ti coming from one of the brass bungs in the fron to fo the manifold having a slight leak and obviously sometime spraying into the fan - nice mess.

I pulled it out this morning and put on some thread tape to try an seal it up. In my enthusiasm to stop the leak. When I screwed it back I did it up too tight and now have small hair line crack in the the top of the manifold above the bung hole - didn't use my tension wrench which is in the shed. Is this major or will it seal up with the bung and thread tape. Is there anyway to fix it if it is stuffed?

Not happy Jan - first with the mechanic and the messy leak - now with my stuff up.....

Hzdude,

Thanks it is in the water jacket part where a pollution sensor should go. I have run it at idle till the thermostat opened - OK no water leak. Just went for a 10 min drive and filled up with gas - and then back again still no water leak - hopin

If it's not leaking, don't touch it
