Am currently looking for an old 186 to work and replace the old 173 in my UC torana in nsw looking for as P plate laws are rooted this might be my best option for now

P Platers arent allowed 308's???????
Ive got a UC With all near new running gear, 308, Powerglide, 9inch, autometer, hurst, holley, k+n, edelbrock, 3800 dominator stallie, yella terra, ARP, crower, crane etc etc etc... All up about 20K worth.....

Nope, p -platers are only allowed to have a max of 6 cylinders, and apparently, no engine modifications. But when you look at the power of new cars you could almost fall over! e.g. new V6 commodore - 200kW. HZ holden 308 - not 200kW. The HZ is also a lot

Dont no were 308 came from?

Anyway pretty sure you cant put a 186 into a uc torana , i now the moter will fit but all that stuff about polution in cars afected everything built in or after 1975 ,,,, hence the 186 stopped in 1971-72 so you might have a

Well i run a 308 in mine... and its all legal... just think its stupid that a p plater cant drive it with a 308??
