Hi guys.
Really like to hear peoples opinions on this. Of my four old holdens, 2 have had the chassis's changed sometime in their pasts. I have a genuine sandman which has been placed on a different chassis cos of a front bingle and a genuine L32 SLR torana which has had the front chassis rail changed. Prob for the same reasons. Im interested in getting them restamped with the original numbers. I reckon I could find someone to do it. Apparently changing the torana is fairly easy and you can buy the die kits for 60 bux.

Now the cars arent stolen and im not selling them so its not for any dodgey reason. Its only for me and i reckon though its probably illegal (?) it seems kinda legit if its for the right reasons. I just dont want those authenticity questions having over the cars all the time, as they are the genuine article. I certainly aren't advocating anything dodgey like rebirthing or stealing or whatever. Just wanting peoples thoughts on the returning your car to original victimless crime angle.

Or even better. is there a legit way to do it, through vicroads?

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience or opinions on this, or even if possible, some contacts for someone who can do it? In Victoria. The original chassis's for both cars are as far as I know, gone to holden heaven, so id like to reinstate the original numbers. Any thoughts or contacts? Cheers.

Problem with HQ-WB is the chassis could be under another car, which I think the one out of your HZ could be.

A company called R Kent & Sons in Clayton is supposed to be able to do it.....I have not used them so do not know how it goes with getting it all past the roads dept. But ring them and ask.

Thanx Byron. Yeah im waiting on Craig to let me know about that. I might have to ring him again, as that could obviously pose a problem. Just wondering about the whole concept as I reckon this must be a relatively common issue. Cheers for that other conta

Gday Byron.
In a case of uncanny syncronicity I just checked my other email account and Craig has got back to me after 5 months to say the other chassis was destroyed after the car had the bingle that wrecked the guard and door. That means ive probably o

Hi Hainzy Sorry its taken so long to get back to you but I've been busy with trying to get the sandman on road. You were right the numbers on chassy are larger than ones discussed, probably 2 or 3 mm. Suppossed to be a set floating around between t
