Hi,
I own a VS 5 litre V8 that has a misfire in it. When the car idles you can feel that it is missing and when I'm in top gear it misses occasionaly up hill or on the flat. It still accelerates OK but a slight stutter when you put your foot down.
I have replaced the high tension leads, spark plugs, fuel filter, I cleaned the injectors, air filter and checked the fuel pump. I replaced the Map sensor hose that was cracked. The manifold is tight so air leaks.
All that's left is the disy cap, rotor, oxygen sensor and temperature sensor.
I have looked at the disy cap and rotor button under a magnifying glass and all appears to be OK.
I have also cleaned the earth on the electronic module on the mudguard
I haven't checked the compression but I think it's OK.
Any clues anyone please?

If you have extractors start the car up for a few seconds than stop the engine Briefly put your hand on each pipe to see if any are cold. If any are cold that's the cylinder you start on. I suggest swapping the cold clyinder spark plug with one that is h

Hi Guys.

An 'arcing' ignition coil is common on VN-VT V8s.

If the problem is ignition related it will be either coil or cap.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
