Hey All. Im a regular on oldholden.com and i have created a program that lets you enter various holden Codes and find out what they are .

For instance. the first 4/5 letters or a VIN tag determine the luxury and body type of a car. Eg 80837 is an HG Monaro Etc.

or J5 Means your car was built in..
or M20 is a XX TRansmission
It also has about 2000 Paint codes on it, you search without the prefix Eg: 567- 11401 just search for the 11401 and it will return the result - Kashmir white.

Theres all sorts of info on there. Its a good way to find out if something is a genuine GTs or SLR etc.
Theres
Body and Luxury codes
Paint Codes
Trans Codes
Diff Codes
Option Codes
Engine Codes

If you want to break down your VIN tag then you can do so but you have to just space each part of it out correctly. eg 80837 h6 j 123 etc.
Theres a help file with it that tells you how to do that.

You can find the program at http://www.users.on.net/joncuddy
