I have a turbo 350 or 400 behind a 308 in my 98 ford transit, and all goes well, except i want revs to drop by about 10>15%, will a t700 drop revs down? and if so, do i need all the computer crap hooked up? to make it work? cause i took all the computer crap off, less can go wrong, and I can tune it, and maintain it,
any other options that you may know of, to drop revs would be most appreciated.
cheers

You can use a TH700 out of a VN or VP V8. Problem is they are pretty &^ssweak boxes compared to a TH400. You can also get a 4 speed TH400 (called a 4L80E) but these are all electronic - you need to either buy an ECU to run it or get one built with a manua

The 4th gear on a T700 is a 20% overdrive I believe. you have to use the cable ones of course. They are a little cheap and .....
Tony spooner from yarra vally autos (lillydale rebuilds these using quality parts ...like sealed power ..costs about $2000)

The other way which may be easier is to change diff gears. That way you get to keep the TH400 or TH350.
