is there any benefit in fitting a head of the smaller blue 6 on to a 3.3 its just that i have one and its got smaller combustion chambers so it should up compression right ? cheers

Yes it will, but probably too high in compression for today's petrol.

Yes but you'd have to run the highest grade ULP (Optimax, Vortex etc) or on LPG otherwise as already said it'll be too much compression and it'll 'ping' on regular or 95 octane ULP. Cheers Peter

Compression ratio would be over 10:1, so unless you had a big overlap cam and use good fuel like Peter says I wouldn't even consider it.

thanks for all the info guys the car already runs gas on an adapted red 202 head on 3.3 so i could run my old stomberg and impco snorkel but i think i will go for a fresh 3.3 head and duel throat varajet and find a snorkel to fit thanks and cheers

I'd keep the red head and get a 186S/GTR inlet and fit a WW Stromberg or XF Weber. You could also fit a 350 2 barrel Holley or small 4 barrel vacuum secondary (390/465) on a Redline manifold. Most of these are too big for petrol (but still run OK)

thanks byron i was just thinking the larger and more efficient ports combined with the varajet duel throat would give abit more power cheers
