warning i received an email purportedly from ebay, had all the ebay security features was addressed to mne personally etc, apparently about an item number 84416798, I did not recognise the number or sender but as it appeared genuine I opened it and it said something like "have you made your mind up yet?"
I have no idea what it was about, I did a search on ebay for the item number and sender there was no trace.
I can only assume it was an attempt to gain access to my computer so I have changed all my passwords but of course the offender may have access to these as well if he has planted something on my computer so i have notified ebay security and as in this post am not using any passwords to avoid them being picked which is a bit inconvenient but can go to library for the time being, AVG never picked anything up and i have done a couple of different security checks, but be aware. I wont be sending any messages from the computer till I sort things out.
the sender was PACIFIC-REAL-ESTATE(12103)

John,
Ebay do use a tracker from within the site, I know this for sure, as I once had a conversation with an ebay employee about this at an ebay Sydney academy. He told me they use this tracker to monitor many things on a user of the site. As for emails

Its a good thing. Sort of. It has killed the swap meet scene. And the fees are outrageous.

20 million transactions a day. Now if the fees were $1 per transaction.. which they are not. ($1 minimum to list, then scaled up from there depending on pr

Paypal is an international money exchange, which up until a year and a half ago were a seperate company. Ebay bought Paypal out and now own it. This makes ebay one of the worlds largest companies. Despite the fees

Ebay no longer offer buyer protection for goods paid for by any other method than paypal. I did close my store and have not renewed it because of the costs.
