Hi Guys..
I have a VS V8 that I am dropping into a HT. Tommorrow is the job of changing the sump and pickup. BUT, this is my first 308, I am used to chevy's. How do you prime the oil pump on a fresh motor on a 308?? you cant just pull the dizzy out and use a drill like ya do on the chevs. So when I change the sump and pickup the oil pump wont have oil in it. How do I prime the sucker before I fire it up so it doesnt do any damage??
Cheers

Hi Paul
In addition to what Byron and HX have said a technique I used on a 253 was to take out the oil pressure switch from the oil pump put in a fitting with a pipe and funnel, and pour in the oil until it backed up. I reckoned at that point the galler
