Hey Everyone
I used to post as XB-Owner, but decided to register a nick.
This is a long post, please take the time to read it and reply, any input would be greatly appreciated!

Anyways I sold my loved XB Fairmont cause I was having to many troubles with it, and I relised I would much prefer get myself a XB Coupe and put big $$$ into that instead.

Main thing is to stroke it from 351 to 383.
And put it on straight gas, using dual throttle bodies.

But I want to do it up perfectly and make sure i get the best performance out of it. Saying this I know this will be a long term mission for me, realistically I dont think I would have it finished within 8 yrs, but thats ok since im only 22.

The first thing on my list to do is to organise every part I wanna put in it, and to make sure it all matches, I would hate to finish it and then find out that I could have got better performance if I had used this brand instead of that brand.

As much as I enjoy researching stuff, I will prolly ask a lot of questions on here. Can't always believe what I read on a companies website, I am better off getting the advice from people who have had experience with all this stuff before.

Well after all that I will get to my first question.

MSD Ignition --- I have noticed a lot of people using MSD products these days, what I wanna know is, has anyone had any problems with MSD gear?

Below are the MSD Distributor, Ford 351C-460, Vacuum Advance (8477)
and the MSD-6AL, High Performance w/Rev Control, 4-6-8 Cyl. (6420)
http://www.shopatron.com...product_id=MSD8477/424.0
http://www.shopatron.com...product_id=MSD6420/424.0

I am also unsure of what MSD coil to suit those products to what would hopefully be a 500hp 383.

Question 2
Stroker Kits.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/N...0665QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Above is a stroker kit i found on ebay. now to be really hounest I have no idea what brands are good for their stroker kits.
So I was wondering,
Is this brand any good?
Is it over priced?
Are there better brands for under $2000?

Question 3
Dual Gas Throttle Bodies.
I have only found one supplier of this.
http://www.gasresearch.com.au/home.html
Is it any good, are there any other suppliers out there I should look into.

Thanks for any help any of you are able to give me on these questions. Also if anyone has any other ideas I should take into consideration please feel free to tell me.

Dont Touch any gas-research products, they are crap.

Had it installed on my car, cost more to remove it.

Notified gas-research time and time again to fix issues, they did'nt want to know me. Ended up at consumer affairs.

Hi 383 XB, i was using MSD-6AL units on two different 351c engines and i had both units fail within 6 months of each other.
As far as strokers go, you might be better of with a 400cleveland rather than stroking a 351.

As you increase the stroke of a

Hello again, putting the 302 rods on the 351 crank with smaller pin to crown height pistons will not effect compression ratio, That is governed by combustion chamber volume ( around 64cc in a closed chamber head ) and piston crown design eg: flat top, di

Kewl dude the info you are giving is very helpful, Im also assuming from what I have read that closed chamber heads are the way to go.

Obviously to have the straight gas I need to get the heads modified so they dont go up the **** after a few weeks, an

Hello again, Yes go for the cast iron heads, there is no advantage to aluminium other than weight. With 5oo hp who cares what they weigh ?? They will be in a 1700kg car anyway.

I feel iron is much better, they are as strong as hell, the standard Ford

PS: Ford Clevelands are a breed of there own.

When talking about heads, ports, cams, Make sure the person you are talking to understands clevelands.

This is why i say Do not port and polish, this is something Chevys, Holdens and other things need,
