Hi is there any advantage of running guide plates on a 186 holden red ? Do they do anything or create more friction? Thanks any help much appreciated .

whats it in ? did you buy it with them fitted or
do just want them . is it performance engine?

They stop the pushrods going sideways when running tight springs and high lift.

Not necessary if running a 12 port head with saddled rockers or roller rockers.
