I just purchased an old 5L motor. The prefix is N5J. My information tells me this is a Nasco replacement 215Kw 5.7 VR-VS motor.
Can anyone confirm or deny this for me.

Hi Campbell.
To my knowledge an N5J prefix is for a VL unleaded 5.0 (carby) replacement block.
AFAIK the replacement block for a 215i 5.7 (stroker) should be SL.

So N5J is a replacement for a VJ prefix(VL carb) motor. Not a replacement for a VL prefix(215Kw 5.7 VR-VS)motor.
Can anyone tell me what pattern this block will be. Turbo, or Tri?
