Hi,

I have a remote vacuum server on my 186, and the bleeder valve is leaking from the thread (not out the bleeder hole) - not sure of the actual model origin of the booster, but it works otherwise.

I bought a new valve which doesn't seem to have helped a lot. I am just curious:

(1) can I use a rubber seating ring? Were these ever designed for an o-ring (EJ-EH & HD-HR workshop manuals go into little detail on the valve... or..

(2) Is ther a tool that will reseat the facing inside (shavings??) ...or

(3) (Assuming there is a brake fluid resistant type), would plumbers tape be a safe method to seal?

Sorry, really cannot find much info on this wee item!

You can buy a bleeder valve/seat assembly that will do the job if you have enough meat around the existing bleeder valve. You need to drill the existing thread out and tap a new thread to suit the thread on the outside of the new seat assembly, then you s
