THE STORY IS IM A GREEN P-PLATER TURNING 21 ON NOVEMBER AND SHOULD BE GETTING MY FULL LICENCE SOON, I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A HQ KINGSWOOD FROM QUEENSLAND AND WANTED TO KNOW IF ITS LEGAL AND WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO MAKE IT LEGAL TO DRIVE IN NSW, BECAUSE IT DESERVES TO BE DRIVEN AND SHOW THEM JAP CARS A THING OR TWO ABOUT HORSEPOWER!

THE DESCRIPTION IS:

327 Chev
Double hump fuelly heads
Roller rockers
Big Cam
750 double pumper holley carb (reconditioned)
Gilmer belt & billet pulleys
2 speed full manualised powerglide (3000 converter & billet imput
shaft)
9" Diff (rebuilt by Hart Transmissions) (4:11 mini spoolled)
Brand new tail shaft
Autometer Dash
B& M Pro Ratchet shifter
Brand new CVR reduction starter motor
Fully rewired & brand new fuel system including patterson fuel filter & holley billet fuel pump
twin dumpers/ extractors
Lowered

ALSO THE AIR FILTER IS STICKING OUT OF THE HOOD BUT WANTING TO GET A HORNET SCOOP TO COVER IT UP. ALSO THE HQ WAS BUILT BEFORE THE EPA ACT SO IT SHOULDNT BE ILLEGAL!??!

IT WAS REGOED AND ROAD WORTHY UP IN QLD (REGO RAN OUT ON MARCH), BUT WANTED TO GET FEEDBACK AND INFORMATION FROM EXPERIENCED MINDS. IF IT WOULD PASS IN NSW AND BE REGOED AND DRIVEN IN NSW? AND WAT IS AND WAT IS NOT LEGAL ABOUT THE CAR..SO I HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?

ANY OTHER INFORMATION WOULD HELP!

IF U WANT PICS OF THE ENGINE BAY JUST GIVE ME UR EMAIL AND ILL SEND IT TO YOU.

There are issues in NSW with P-Platers learning or having access to EVIL V8's. As if !!

I am sure we appreciate the question, but as we want you to keep your car in good hands, so ask your local NSW RTA. HQs did have 350s so a 327 wouldnt be an issue.

Not that I condone street drag racing, but mate - your wasting your time, money and license if you think you could out run some of these Jap cars on the road these days.
Unless you have around 400hp available with that 327 you've got little chance.

no, a smaller filter will hinder performance, how high is the filter poking out of the bonnet?

if you can tell us the exact year of the block we can tell you whether you need the cats or not.

LOL then you will left in wonderment when a 720kg VW Beetle blows you away with a hot 160 hp 4 cylinder. Weight is part of the equation, not just hp.

Sounds like a nice car. Enjoy.
