I am getting sick of talking to people who say they have got a Monaro only to find out it is a 4 door Kingswood in disguise. There is no way on gods green earth that a 4door is a real Monaro so I think we should all start calling these cars Mingswoods so nobody gets confused
Cheers, Col

It's like alot of people now with panel vans automatically think they are Sandman's, especially if they have a GTS dash or any GTS parts!

WANTED: HJ Sandman parts, PM me!

WANTED: GTS rims, seats and mirrors to suit HJ.

Unfortunately Colin you are incorrect.
There are 'real' 4 door Monaro's as made, advertised and sold by Holden.

They are the HQ, HJ & HX GTS sedans. Like it or lump it because if Holden built them as Monaro's then that's what they are.

However if

We spent ages the other week as to what was in or out. What's a real munro anyway ?? Define it ? So is a HQ coupe with a 202 more of a Monaro than a HQ 4 door GTS with a 350 ??? YES the 4 doors are hard to pic, agreed. The coupes are easy to work out. BUT

Its kind of a unique Aussie thing in some ways. Ive read that Americans used to scorn at our 4door performance cars. It would be good to hear from Holden or Ford the reasons or based on what research these cars came about. Also interesting why the last of

Correct me if I am wrong , ( Byron ,Dr Terry) , but I don't think there was an HZ `Monaro '. I remember way back in '78 when the oldman bought his and it was advertised as a GTS , no mention of Monaro .Also , agree with Munromad ,had a mate with a 4 door

RM its all in the trim codes and or model codes to tell the fakes apart.
My HQ SS is the same the trim code and paint code say it all as they were unique to an SS.
The 4 door was made as people were losing interest in 2 dr coupes Yes they were going out

Yes RM, CLOUDY is right. Its in the codes, the colours and the look too. Esp if its an original.

INTOIT is also right..The HZ was a GTS. It didnt have a Monaro badge, but is happily included in the Monaro family - well from my POV.

The HQ SS is a r
