Thanks: 1 times
When the car is in Drive and you take off does it start off in 1st gear and then change up like it's supposed to or does it start off in top gear and take off like a slug?

With a manualised auto the transmission stays in whatever gear the lever is in. ie if you take off in D you will be burning it out by driving off in top gear.

You have to start off in 1 then when you pick up speed you shift "manually" to 2 then more
