Hi out there! My first time on site & think it's fantastic! Hope someone can shed a bit of light?? My Astra is in bad shape - had for 5 years, never really been serviced, leaks alot of oil, screws holding distributor on came loose & whole thing fell off whilst driving a year ago, was put back on but running badly. Now it's at a standstill. Think timing chain is stuffed? When car warms up - over 50kph very loud clicking noise coming from bottom of motor? sounds like theres a rock in the engine! Due to large oil leak it did run out of oil without me realising - have replaced oil & ran it through motor. Also needs fuel injectors replaced, car won't always start - try's to but won't kick over - at times only 2 starts a day with good rest in bewetween - not battery. Oil light is coming on (yes the light works!) maybe oil pump broken? Have driven on empty ALOT! Apart from that, car is in good shape - actually polised it up on weekend at looks good, time to look after my lifeline!! A girl's gotta get to work!!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Stacy,
John's idea is fiscally sound in suggesting to sell it and purchase another car for around $1800-$2000.
Wrecking your Astra and selling the parts would bring in the extra money to help you buy another reliable vehicle.

common problem with oil pick up in engine sump becomes clogged with carbon. causes no oil to top of motor{camshaft & lifters}causing cam to lock. it has probably made the timing BELT slip.Have seen it fixed by cleaning oil pick up and changing oil as
