I was about to buy a 2003 XR6 5 speed manual when the buyer contacted me and told me about a problem with it. It is sticking between 1st & 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. If he is changing up it sometimes won't go into gear smoothly but if he goes back to neutral and then to 2nd it is fine. Only started to do this ??? Only done 50000KM.
Ford said $1000 to check this out. Is this a common problem. I have been told that the manuals are "grainy" by a few people. Are they that bad? I really want a manual so can anyone help?

It is a common problem, even the ford dealers admit to it. Buy a BA MkII instead and get an extra gear!

I've got a MKII turbo and have had the problem since new. Almost a year now and Ford are still giving me the run around.
