This car has a twin headlight front and someone has written to the seller stating that he has one and it was a factory option. Never heard that one before - it it BS or legit?

Afaik twin headlight was not an option, the only HQ monaro that had twin lights was the LS coupe (2 door premier), many cars were converted by owners in the 70`s and 80`s

As I see it the front end has been done in/pranged in a major way. The Grill stripes are wrong as they come too far forward, the guard stripes are TOO sharp, and you can see overspray on the ID plates . The ID plates say Oct72 -Aug 73 which is correct. Pa

OH yes as posted, should be 253 - tri - 2.78 diff. The 253 prob went when the front end went was replaced. Hence a 308.

I think u may find a 2.78/Tri/253 can do wonders ! They can do a XR6 Turbos off the mark, sure it loses it at the top end but the speed limit is 60 hehe. And yes, at 100kmh a 2.78 is getting around 2000 rpm LOL. Barely breathing.

Cheers John

hey trublu with a username like that i think you may be the ford wannabe, no i dont own a ford but i do know that a xr6 turbo would quite easily dispose of a standard 253 with 2.78 gears (also stop, corner, ride and be far more fuel efficient than the HQ )
