Hi everyone,
I have an alloy rear spoiler sitting here that I'm thinking of putting on my coupe. Now before I go on this much I do know. All rear spoilers on the XAs and XBs were alloy and they were dealer, not factory fitted. Now, I've found out there are more than one type of alloy spoiler out there, ranging in slightly different lengths and entirely different feet mountings. Can anyone out there tell me what the correct spoiler width is for an XA, XB coupe.
And secondly, what is the correct feet/legs for these cars. I just need to know before I go ahead with prepping and fitting this thing.
For all the infomation out there on the net there is very little concise stuff on the rear spoilers or fitting the things correctly.
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, Paul.

Paul,

There are pictures of the 'genuine' alloy feet getting around as they appeared in Ford dealer catalogues which may help but I am fairly certain that consistantcy is something you won't find when it comes to spoilers.

As far as I know, they wer

AJ is correct, PhIII spoilers were glass but XB ones were not!
I'd say XA's may have got a bit of both, depending what was available and when they rolled off the line but the factory issue was alloy.
Never seen a glass spoiler that was factory original

Thanks guys. The spoiler I have has cast feet, pivots so that the angle of the spoiler is adjustable and is held into the wing with 2 self tapping screws at each leg. The spoiler measures about 1400mm from tip to tip. Craig, is that like the spoiler on

I'll measure it and get back to you mate!

ok, mine is 1500 long and 175 wide.

Your one sounds just like my original one, little shorter and narrower than what's on my sedan now. When I compared the two side by side back when I had my coupe the wider

Try this mate,

This was taken a while ago but it is of the larger spoiler. You'll see that over time as the nuts on the wing loosen it ends up sagging towards the back. Have to be careful not to overtighten th

Guys thank you so much. This has really helped a great deal. looks like I've got the slightly smaller spoiler. Looks a lot like the one on the black RPO on the UK ford site link. I'd really prefer a bit wider spoiler like what both of you have on your

Alloy spoilers are motorcraft, dealer fitted only, factory only supplied fibreglass spoilers.
