You guys have probably thrashed this one out before.
when i was wrecking over east, i never saw one.
But in Perth, there everywhere.!

Yeah good observation.....I grew up in Perth and remember them as quite common.....I live in NSW now and have only seen one in 10 years. So perhaps someone in Perth was modifying and reselling them.

I remember seeing ads for them in Street Machine in the 80s.

another one was the hj tail lights in the in the HQ coupe & brougham tail lights in the hk t g coupes what medication were they taking

I never liked the tri-light bumpers but I did like the look of the HJ rear lights fitted to HQ coupes.

Another popular modification to HQ bumpers was fitting Ford LTD rear lights in the bumper. They were a long narrow strip of lights. Looked pretty c

Also remember the fairmont rectangular headlights in the HJ/X/Z. And the odd holden with mercedes front indicators grafted on. Oh yeah there use to be a sedan with with early 80's fairlane tailights where the rear bumper would be going around Perth. Come

Back to the 3 lights in the rear bar. Holden were going to do this, Premier would have three lights and others would have two. However they chamnged their mind as cost was too high. So someone else noticed this and did it and it started a big trend, have

Kal Custom (I think that is what they were called) in Parramatta used to do VK Commodore nosecones for HJ-WB, Mercedes noses, Transam fronts plus the VB/XC bonnet skin on various Holden bonnets.

My mate has one of these he made out of 2 bumpers.. it has 3x red tail lights in it on each side. His indicator is red same as the brake and tail lights.

I had a bumper with that setup but I didnt realise they were rare and sold it for about $40.
