Hi Guys Ok I Will cut a long story short got a hz ute that is prone to overheating had been sitting for a bout 6 months not turned over anyway I eventually got it running again but it started running very hot. Anyway 3 months ago our rental was sold and we had to leave I had no where to store the ute so I put it into a storage facility 330 a month but when you need storage very quick I had to take it. So I finally got the ute out of storage today to save me some money, And bought to a mates house. We had decided to start stripping the engine down anyway to see what the overheating was all about then I pulled the dipstick then the words &**&^^& it was white and creamy. Funny thing was before I had put the ute into storage on that day I checked the oil and it was fine so it must of happened at the Storage Place when I drove the ute into the shed. I have removed the manifold and the rocker covers and it is like a milk shake everywhere. So what do I do now how do I get it clean will I have to pull out the pistons and clean the conrods and all that crap. I have a engine crane and I am willing to pull the engine out cause I have a new stall converter to fit anyway. So has anyone encountered this before.Is is the head gasket or a manifold leak one thing I did notice was was at the back end of the head the 2 main water jackets were clogged with heaps of **** like a crystalising type of stuff hard to explain any help would be great sorry about the long post

Between the rear 2 cylinders is the only place I've ever seen a blown head gasket on a 308 (and that's at least 5-6 times) so it could well be just the gasket. I have never seen one crack a head in that spot.
The rear of the heads is terrible for wate |

heads are cheap anyway. but you certainly have a cracked head or blown gasket. you will need to strip the whole thing down and clean out all the oil ways, also when you get it down have the block and heads acid dipped to clean oil off the internals as th

Ok Guys I took the passenger side head off today and the water that came out of the water jackets was clear no traces of oil in it. So does that mean that just the water has leaked into the oil. I am trying to stay away from a full rebuild I am doing the

you have to drain the sump because the oil is watery, you could try draing the water and running the engine for a couple of hours with kerosene, then drain and flush a few times. Or you could chuck some caustic soda in THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS HOT CAUSTIC S

Okay I have stripped the engine down and I am ready to take it out the head gasket blew on number 1 cyliner right where the the main water ports are. Only thing I can think of was the gaskets detoriated as the car sat for so long not started and the water

you should pull the pistons at least to check the big ends, also check the mains, take the rings off, keep them separate, and sit the piston/conrod back in the cylinder itcame out of, see how tight it is. if it falls straight through you most likely would

I rang some guys today john and they said they can rebuild the bottom end, bore it out flat Top pistons molly rings acid bath the block basically full bottom end rebuild with good quality parts. I have decided I want to turn the engine into a bit more of
