It was mentioned early in the Sandman thread, about uncommon Monaro paint colours. Any idea on how uncommon some of these colours are?

The reason I ask, is I have a HK that was originally Woodsman Green. Currently it is Silver Mink. It is now due for its make over.
Do I bring it back to the original colours, with a new 186, or do I fit the 327, Glide and Chev diff that I have rebuilt for it, with a new coat of silver?

Obviously, yes it is my choice, and I should do what I want with it, but I am becoming more and more hesitant with changing from six to eight, due to it being unmolested. There are so many molested Monaros out there, I feel as though I dont need to add to them.

Resale value, investment purposes etc, are not a concern, as I have absolutely no intentions on selling this vehicle, so it then becomes a liability, not an asset. (my opinion anyway) A concourse restoration is out of the question also.

I guess what I am getting at, is it one of one thousand, hundred or ten green HK Monaros built? Or more to the point, one of how many left? If it is as common as black tyres, well two more cylinders will be added along with some more silver paint. Easy fixed. But if it is quite uncommon, then I have the chance of preserving it. I feel it would be much easier to retain/reclaim its originality now, than in twenty years.

Maybe someone will understand what I'm raving about, and possibly shed some light or opinions on the matter. Do I preserve or modify?

I have a Woodsman green 186 manual 337 HK with 18X trim, and I know of another in the same configuration. There was a 327 in this colour, and Warren Turnbull has told me of one he saw in Sydney (I think it was Sydney) many years ago (which could be either
