hi can anyone tell me the differance in the vn vp v6 and v8 boxes as i have a v6 box behind a 307 that needs to be rebuilt or replaced and would like to no if the v8 is the same bolt patten etc cherrs

It wont be a Holden V6 box behind a 307. It is most likely a V8 box, but I suppose it could be a Chev V6 example imported from the US. The box you want will be a Holden VN/VP V8 box as the Holden 5litre VN on has the same bolt pattern as a Chev V6 and V8.

sorry byron i fogot to say it hasan adaptor plate fitted 99%sure its holden v6 if i get it rebuilt will it handle more hp down the track have been qouted 1300 to 1800 is that fair cherrs

If it is a V6 box just buy another. They are cheap as chips. Just buy one out of a driving car that has nice red oil. The 307 won't produce much more torque than an injected VN V6 so it should be OK. If you want to put a bigger Chev in later throw away th
