HI guys.
Can someone tell me if a 4 cylinder opel 4 speed LX sunbird is basically the same as a 253 4 speed LX? I mean in terms of the basic body, chassis all that kind of stuff. Basically for reshelling of a rusty car? Cheers.

I would transfer all the mechanicals including the front suspension from the six to the 4 body, I htink the front cross member is different and the front brakes were drums.

At least youll have an unstressed body to work with.

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

thanx JBM.
Drum brakes - Good point. By front crossmember do you mean gearbox crossmember? I would do that i guess and yep all the front end and diff too. The 253 is i think 76 and the sunbird is 77 so i think they should both be RTS. Apart from that eve

Depending upon the gearbox some 4cyl examples had the box mounted further forward and hence the gearstick is in the wrong spot. I think it was a UC with Starfire and MC6 where I found this out. As JBM says the Opel powered LX has a different front crossme
