Just thought Id re-phrase the problem. Surely someone out there can help me. With the price of fuel these days I can't afford to be running on what seems like one and a half cylinders.
Help please !
The old V6 is running very rough. According to the diagnostic the error codes are 13, 14 & 45. I'm having trouble actually locating the sensors to check them, can anyone help?

13 Oxygen sensor output remained at .35-.55 volts for more than one minute after warmup. Possible open circuit. 14 Coolant sensor indicated a temperature above 130C for 3 seconds after engine ran for 20 seconds. Probably a short 45 O2 sensor showed > 0.550 volt for over 50 seconds while in closed loop with engine running over 1 minute and throttle open more than 2% |

Hi Buz.
I find fault codes to be not that helpful on these models. The best way is to erase the codes (just disconnect the battery for a few minutes) & drive it around the block a few times. If any of the same codes come back, get the multimeter out & |

Dr Terry, Thanks for being the only one to reply so far,,, Ill put your advice to good use and see what happens. Engines are still engines. Youll note in my reply that I mementioned the problem will most probably be non-electronic. Most day-to-day faults on these cars are usually the simple ones, spark plugs, HT leads, air leaks, blocked filters. Many guy |
