do you want a 71/72 type console or 73/74 ?

well thers sumthing new to me. a 73 one what sort is a 73? can u find me a link to a pic of 1 like on ebay. i no the 71 its flat all the way to the end with a ash tray in the end and a hole. but a 73? i thort they wher the same

early console has a small square hole in the rear which takes the floppy seat belt buckles and has the ashtray at the back...later console for hq has a long opening in the centre section....ive got a couple of both types but each has a defect of some sort

heres something to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons..ive always been of the understanding that early and late had the different consoles as there is 2 types as i described above...BUT..when i went to look at the hq sandman sales brochure i have there is

is the late the same as hj ? with the 71 hq lid at the end (crome ish bit)and fold up arm bit black and long ish.

I always knew there were two different HQ consoles but I was told that the one with the long cut out was for the manuals and the other one with the flat top was for the auto's.

never heard that one but nothing surprises me...guess ill just have to sit down with the parts catalogues and figure it from there..

wanting to get to the bottom of this i spoke to dr terry and his opinion of it is that a belmont based type car that would of had non inertia seat belts had the console with the small square at the back and a kingswood premier etc car which had inertia re

i had a dig around, it appears i have a 73 / 74 one( have to confirm by photos), no cracks, very good.
flip top part at the front like HJ in fish scale.
located in Perth thou.

A1 Bogan.
Old holdens brought on the spot, quick decision, cash paid.
