Gday team,
How about this.
I'm driving the mighty HG from Brisbane back to Oakey in the pouring rain (yes rain in south east queensland!) and with about 100 kms to go, The wipers die. Needless to say the last leg of the journey was fairly hairy - such is life. So now the money trap needs another repair. Heres the symptoms:
The wipers started get slower and seemed to be straining then died halfway across the windscreen.
I'm picking a f*cked wiper motor.
What do you guys reckon?

I'd agree with your diagnosis.
Personally, I'd attack it 2 ways.
1. Remove the motor & try and manually work the mechanism to make sure it's not binding.
If it's binding it could be putting excess strain on the motor - enough to slow/stop it if it |

lube all your wiper pivots first, get in under the cowl vent and spray oil all over them....much quicker and cheaper.
Think about it..when did you do them last?

I use Rainex on my windscreen - about $9.00 a bottle from auto shops, apply it every two-three months). It makes the water stream off very quickly, making it easy to see, much safer. You hardly need the wipers.
