Hi all,

Not Holden related this time but my 1983 2F motored Landcruiser has a really odd gas fault. It has a known good convertor, new tank but it seems to just not be getting any gas. The solenoids click when the key is turned on and the primer' switch flicked but as I said no gas. Yes I checked the bottle is turned on, yes it is nearly full and the convertor gets warm when the engine is going!! All I can think of is that the safety switch is playing up, but hoping others out there might have some ideas?? Thanks in advance.

OK I've replaced the safety switch and now I get the solenoids clicking as normal again and the car will start and run on gas but no matter where I set the settings on the converter and on the 'in line' adjuster on the line to the carb I can't get the eng

the mixer could be stuffed,or it could be dual fueling,get it checked at a gas place.

As cloudy said it could be dual fueling. That is that the petrol solenoid is actually leaking a bit of petrol causing a too rich mix. Another problem Ive had is with the gas solenoid. It was clicking but was sticking internally and therefore not let

you might if its a closed impco mixer its sucking air someware try spaying a bit of soapy water around the carby area while its running to check for a air leak cheers

Was the gas fitted on the toyo when you got it? One of the biggest faults I have come accross with duel fuel is the cap on the carby should have a choke type cable attached to it, this opens and shuts the diaphram when you switch from gas to petrol. If th

Are you refering to petrol as fuel 'cause as far as I know LPG is fuel as well??

Have you checked that you have full water flow through your convertor, even though it warm the opening could be icing up a little on the inside. Friend had this prob on a Patrol, ran rough despite how many times it was tuned.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I have had a win, the filter was pretty blocked and I have sprayed carby cleaner through the convertor (was a suggestion to try it) and blow me down it idles and runs quite well now! I removed the 'mixture' screw on the co
