I got a few questions in regards to a VR SS that i bought as an engine donor.
The car has ss badges on rear doors, dash and ss seats.
The build plate says it has FE2 suspension.
It was fitted with a fake clubsport body kit and when i removed the front bumper i found the ss fogs lights still fitted.
The door trim inserts dont match the seats.

Now the questions

Did VR SS commodores come with a 3rd brake light fitted to the parcel tray? (mine has one)

Also did VR undercover cop cars have BTI stamped on the I.D plates?

The interior has a few holes here and there plus a few extra wires under the dash that end up at the front of the car but were just tied up and not connected to anything.

Is it possible i have an ex cop car?

GMH, off the top of my head the 3rd brake light (on the parcel tray) become mandatory by law around 1989, that's why you'll find some of the earlier VN's without them.

The VR & VS BT1 cars were fitted with the SS wiring harness, which has 'plug in' provisions for such things as cruise control, power windows, and the spoiler brake light (extra lead up into the boot, stopping just past the centre badge (but inside).

Doesnt BT1s speedo needle doesnt light up like the others gauges. it has that small light hard wired in the dash just above the speedo. so you could drive with your lights off and still see the speedo

14I is simply the colour code for "slate grey" interior trim, and does not denote SS or any other trim, it is merely the colour.
