Gday all, i'm trying to remove the flange nut to change the pinion seal on my EH Wagon, i've got the cars weight on the wheels.
The last toy i've tried was a half inch drive rattle gun with about 800 kpa of pressure.
Has any one got any suggestions?

This may seem strange but are you doing it up other wise a 4 foot bar works wonders. Maybe heat it up then try to UNDO it.

Not unless for some reason its a left hand thread?(l hope bloody not) Might try the heat thing though, some one else suggested that. Im guessing a gas torch.

Or failing that, an impact wrench is often quite handy just for that first jolt to break the bind on the threads, then power bars of appropriate length.

I just had the same problem on my VH wagon. On the advice of a friend, we used a piece of chain on a u-bolt on the flange to stop the flange/diff turning when we tried to undo the nut. Worked a treat with a 1-meter steel pipe on the ratchet did the trick.

Thanks for that info, but i'm happy to say the bloody thing is off, my other neighbour lent his compressor for the rattle gun and "BINGO"
the right air pressure made all the difference(took only 2 seconds). The other compressor was leaking air. And your
