Wondering if someone has come across this. I have a Pricol tach. Doesnt register when first starting the car. Then when she get over 120F, needle starts jumping. A bit under 150F when she is warm, it works like a champ. Wiring triple-checked to coil and YES it is set to 6 cyl. The power wire runs to a fuse block which includes connection to the other gauges-oil/temp). Maybe the gauge is stuffed (fairly new) but I am not convinced.... Any experience? If any relevance... 186 in EJ, Electronic Dizzy (Commy) & Boch elec coil. Thanks!! Edited by user Tuesday, 28 August 2007 5:23:57 AM(UTC)

Think I'd be going back to a minimal configuration to see if I could narrow it down. Pull the gauge, take it to the engine bay. Fresh wire (fused) straight to battery and earth. Hold wire on coil. Start engine, see what happens. If it doesn't work, g

Thank for the reply Jason.
I guess I hoped (like we always do when a problem presents) that there is an easy fix or known problem that is a tweak! I respect your methodical approach to the problem. In the absence of a quick fix, I will follow as you s

disconnect from fuse box and run the power wire directly off the battery (for testing purposes only). If this work then you'll need to move the +ve feed off the ignition and install an inline fuse.
